Genspark AI Review 2026: Pricing, Credits and Is Plus ($24.99) Worth It?

๐Ÿ†• Latest Update โ€” October 6, 2026

Genspark now lists Plus at $24.99 a month ($19.99 on annual billing) and Pro at $249.99. Since September 18, 2026, new Plus and Pro members get a weekly Free Quota and core AI Chat and Image models at no credit cost, while flagship models use credits. Older subscribers keep unlimited Chat and Image through December 31, 2026. The company has also raised more money: press releases put its valuation at $2.6B in June 2026. Every price and limit below comes from Genspark’s own help pages, checked October 6, 2026, plus community reports and our research.

Genspark AI Review: The Bottom Line

This Genspark AI review comes down to one question: is a credit-based agent workspace worth $24.99 a month when ChatGPT Plus and Claude Pro cost $20? Genspark is no longer the Perplexity-style search tool it started as. It now sells a bundle of agents (a Super Agent, AI Slides, AI Sheets, AI Docs, a phone-calling agent and more), and you pay for the work in credits.

The catch is the credits. Plus gives you 10,000 a month, one Call for Me phone call burns 500 of them, and Genspark’s own help pages disagree on what a Team seat costs. Recent Trustpilot reviews also lean on billing, limits and credit use. Genspark’s help center is clear and detailed, which makes the gaps easy to see.

Best for: people who build decks, spreadsheets and research reports every week and want one place to do it. Skip if: you mostly want a chatbot (compare Perplexity or ChatGPT) or you need predictable monthly costs. If you want an agent that works inside your computer, see our ChatGPT agent mode review first.

โšก TL;DR โ€“ The Bottom Line

What It Is: A credit-metered AI workspace: a Super Agent plus slide, sheet, doc, research and phone-call agents behind one chat box.

Best For: Consultants, marketers and students who produce decks, sheets and research reports regularly.

Price: Free ($0, 100 credits a day up to a lifetime cap), Plus $24.99 a month ($19.99 billed annually), Pro $249.99 a month ($199.99 billed annually).

Our Take: A broad toolbox that earns its price if you use the agents weekly, and a poor deal if you only chat.

โš ๏ธ The Catch: Credits reset every month, failed agent runs still cost credits, and Genspark’s own pages disagree on Team pricing.

What Genspark Actually Does in 2026

Think of Genspark as a small agency behind one chat box. You describe the job, and a lead assistant hands pieces of it to specialists: one researches, one builds the slides, one fills the spreadsheet. Genspark’s June 2026 press release counts its revenue from the April 2025 launch of its agent products, so this is a 17-month-old product line, not the Sparkpages search engine many older reviews describe.

The help center lists the current toolbox. Each item below is something Genspark documents and meters in credits:

  • Super Agent: the main chat box. It plans a task, picks tools and carries it to a finished file.
  • AI Slides, AI Sheets and AI Docs: deck, spreadsheet and document agents. Pro and Plus include a weekly Free Quota for them in Standard mode.
  • Deep Research, Fact Check and SecondBrain: research and note agents, also covered by Free Quota in Standard mode.
  • Genspark Code: a coding agent. For heavy coding, see our AI agents for developers guide.
  • Call for Me: an AI that phones a business for you (more below).
  • AI Meeting Notes and Speakly: transcription of up to 24 hours a day on Plus and Pro, and voice dictation at zero credit cost.
  • Claw and Cloud Computer: an always-on agent that needs a separate Cloud Computer subscription (Lite, Standard and Powerful tiers). Some actions also use credits.

๐Ÿ” REALITY CHECK

Marketing Claims: “Super Agent is Genspark’s autonomous AI assistant that thinks, plans, and acts to complete your everyday tasks.” (Genspark Super Agent help page)

Actual Experience: Genspark’s own Credits Guide tells a more careful story. It says each failed agent retry costs credits, a regeneration costs the same as the original, and that if a task keeps failing on the same step you should stop it and fix the input.

Verdict: Autonomous, but metered. You pay for the misses as well as the hits.

What Changed Since January

Our earlier version of this review led with a funding round and a viral phone-calling feature. Nine months later, almost every headline detail has moved. Going by Genspark’s blog index and press releases, here is the timeline:

  • March 12, 2026: AI Workspace 3.0, introduced as the company’s “first AI employee”. A press release the same day put the Series B at $385M and the valuation near $1.6B.
  • April 8, 2026: Workspace 4.0, “Your AI Employee, Now Everywhere”.
  • April 29, 2026: a global partnership with Microsoft to embed Genspark agents across Microsoft 365 and Agent 365, according to a Business Wire release.
  • June 2026: the Series B was extended to $485M at a $2.6B post-money valuation, per press coverage.
  • July 20, 2026: AI Workspace 6.0. August 3: GenOffice, an open-source AI office suite. September 10: Gen-1 Slides, a model built for slides.
  • September 18, 2026: the membership change that matters most to you, covered in the pricing section.

The Super Agent itself was rebuilt. Genspark’s help page says the new version runs in a dedicated sandbox with a real browser and its own filesystem, can run several tasks in parallel, and can save a workflow as a reusable skill. Files can be up to 500 MB on Free and 1 GB on paid plans.

Funding and valuation tell you the company is well financed. They do not tell you the product is good value for one subscriber. For that, look at the credits.

Getting Started: Your First Five Minutes

Every account starts on the Free plan, so there is nothing to pay to look around. Genspark’s help center describes the first steps clearly.

What Your First Five Minutes Look Like

Going by Genspark’s help pages, here is what the first five minutes on Free and Plus look like:

  • Ask the Super Agent for a finished file: type a prompt in the central chat box, or pick Super Agent from the New menu. Genspark’s own examples include “Research electric vehicle market trends and create a 10-slide presentation with key insights.” On Free you get 100 credits a day, up to a lifetime allowance.
  • Draft the prompt in AI Chat first: Genspark’s tip is to shape the prompt there, then hand it to the Super Agent, so the agent does not spend credits on clarifying questions.
  • Place a phone call: verify your number by text, pick a business or contact, describe the goal and choose Call Now or Schedule. Registering a number needs Plus or higher, and each connected call costs a flat 500 credits.

On Plus, 10,000 credits would cover at most 20 phone calls if you did nothing else. In practice you will spend them on slides, sheets and research, which Genspark does not price per task.

A Sparkpage from our December 2025 screenshots, from the days when Genspark leaned on search.

๐Ÿ’ก Key Takeaway: Do your thinking in the cheap place. Genspark itself says to refine the request in AI Chat and only then send it to the Super Agent. Every retry on a long agent task costs the same as the first run.

Features That Matter

Genspark documents dozens of agents. These are the four that decide whether the subscription pays off.

Super Agent: a sandbox with a real browser

The rebuilt Super Agent works in its own sandbox, so it can browse, write files and run code before it hands you a result. You can start a task, close your laptop and come back to the finished work, according to the help page. Parallel tasks inside one project can build on each other’s output.

The limit to know about: a New Super Agent task can use more credits because it does more, including multi-step work, live browsing and code. Genspark does not publish a credits-per-task table. Its Credits Guide says model lineups and prices change frequently and sends you to the live numbers inside the app.

AI Slides, Sheets and Docs

These are the agents most people will pay for. Standard-mode runs of Super Agent, AI Slides, AI Sheets, AI Docs, Deep Research and Fact Check draw on a weekly Free Quota on Plus and Pro first, then on your credits. Pro’s weekly balance is 10 times Plus’s. Ultra mode, and any video or audio generation, uses credits.

If you only need slides, the free alternative is worth checking first. Our Kimi AI Slides review covers a free option, and Claude in PowerPoint covers the Microsoft-native route.

Genspark AI features overview showing slides, sheets, call, and browser capabilities
Genspark’s agents in our December 2025 screenshot. Names and limits have changed; the help center is the current source.

Call for Me: 500 credits a call

Here is the example from Genspark’s own page: “Call Rosa’s Trattoria and book a table for 4 tonight at 7 pm. Ask if they have outdoor seating. If 7 isn’t available, try 7:30.” The AI calls, handles the back and forth, and sends you a transcript and a summary. It can press keys to get through “press 1” menus, offers 10 voices and can translate during a call.

Cost and limits: a flat 500 credits per connected call, plus a few credits for the summary. If nobody answers, the 500 credits are refunded. A voicemail pickup counts as connected, and so does a call that connects and then drops. A call can last up to about an hour.

๐Ÿ” REALITY CHECK

Marketing Claims: “Places a real phone call on your behalf, handles the full conversation in a natural voice.” (Genspark Call for Me help page)

Actual Experience: The same page says translation “isn’t flawless” and to keep that in mind for high-stakes calls. It also charges for voicemail and for calls that drop after connecting.

Verdict: Good for a restaurant booking or a business-hours check. Do not send it to a landlord or a bank.

Chrome extension and AI Browser

The Chrome extension puts an AI sidebar on any page. It can summarize the page you are reading and, per the help page, click buttons, fill forms and extract data. Genspark’s blog also announced an AI Browser in June 2025 and “On-Device Free AI” in September 2025 (post titles from its blog index). The membership page lists no separate price for the browser, so check its download page before assuming it is free.

Genspark AI Pricing 2026: Every Plan and What a Credit Costs

How much does Genspark AI cost? The Genspark Plus plan is $24.99 a month, or $19.99 a month billed annually ($239.99 a year). Pro is $249.99 a month, or $199.99 a month billed annually ($2,399.99 a year). Free is $0, and the Genspark Enterprise plan is custom. Genspark’s Membership Plans page says all prices are in USD, so this Genspark subscription price is the base rate; tax and card fees may be added by your bank or tax authority.

The Team price conflict. The Membership Plans page lists Team at $35 per seat with 10,000 credits. The Team & Enterprise page lists $30 per seat with 12,000 credits. Both were live on October 6, 2026. Confirm the number on the checkout screen before you buy.

The real-world cost math

  • Plus monthly: $24.99 รท 10,000 credits = $2.50 per 1,000 credits.
  • Plus annual: $19.99 รท 10,000 = $2.00 per 1,000. Pro monthly: $249.99 รท 125,000 = $2.00 per 1,000. Pro annual: $199.99 รท 125,000 = $1.60 per 1,000.
  • One phone call (500 credits): $1.25 on Plus monthly, $1.00 on Plus annual or Pro monthly, $0.80 on Pro annual.
  • Annual saving: 12 months of Plus is $299.88 billed monthly versus $239.99 billed annually, a saving of $59.89. For Pro it is $2,999.88 versus $2,399.99, a saving of $599.89.
  • Pro versus Plus: about 10 times the price ($249.99 รท $24.99) for 12.5 times the entry credits.

๐Ÿ“Š What 1,000 Credits Cost at Each Plan

๐Ÿ’ก Key Insight: Annual billing and Pro both cut the price of a credit. Pro on annual billing is $1.60 per 1,000 credits, about 36% cheaper than Plus monthly. You only win if you use the credits: they reset every billing period.

Genspark credit usage: what burns credits

People ask how Genspark credit usage works, and the honest answer is that Genspark publishes drivers, not prices. Its Credits Guide says credits measure computational effort. Cost goes up with:

  • the model tier (Standard is the everyday default, Ultra is for final outputs)
  • long context and long multi-turn conversations, because each message re-processes the whole thread
  • high-resolution images and longer video or audio (a 4-second video costs less than 8 to 16 seconds or more)
  • multi-model fan-out: AI Audio and AI Music default to Auto-select, which generates several versions and charges for each
  • retries: regenerations and failed agent retries cost the same as the original

Two rules decide whether your credits last. First, credits do not roll over: they reset each billing period, and unused credits from a higher plan are not carried to a lower one. Second, separately bought top-up credits are valid for 3 months. On annual plans, credits arrive monthly, not all at once.

What changed on September 18, 2026

New Plus and Pro members now get core AI Chat and AI Image models at no credit cost up to a limit. Flagship models use credits. Members who subscribed before September 18 and stay subscribed keep unlimited Chat and Image, inside a 5-hour session window, through December 31, 2026. After that, everyone follows the plan terms in effect. If you cancel and resubscribe, the newer terms apply.

๐Ÿ” REALITY CHECK

Marketing Claims: “Unlimited zero-credit usage of top-tier chat & image models … valid until December 31, 2026.” (Genspark Team & Enterprise help page)

Actual Experience: The Credits Guide says AI Chat and AI Image also have a separate limit based on model spend over a fixed 5-hour window, and that buying more credits does not remove it. New members do not get the unlimited promise at all, only core models at no credit cost.

Verdict: Read “unlimited” as unlimited until a date, inside a window. Recent Trustpilot reviews already complain about the switch to a weekly limit.

Is Genspark Free? What the Free Plan Gets You

Yes, with a ceiling. Free gives you 100 credits a day, up to a lifetime allowance of free credits. Genspark does not publish the size of that allowance. When you use it up, the daily refill stops, but any balance you hold keeps working until it runs out. You also get 1 GB of AI Drive, limited access to models and agents, and voice dictation capped at 4,000 words a week. Super Agent files can be up to 500 MB.

Free is enough to judge whether the agents suit you. It is not a long-term free tool, and phone calls need a paid plan. For a wider set of $0 options, see our free AI tools review.

How to Unsubscribe From Genspark (and Get a Refund)

Cancelling is self-serve on the web. These are the steps in Genspark’s help center:

  1. Open Settings, go to Billing and find the Cancellation card.
  2. Select Cancel Subscription.
  3. Your plan and credits stay active until the end of the period you already paid for. Then the account reverts to Free.
  4. Changed your mind? Reactivate before the period ends and nothing is interrupted.

Bought in the app? Cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Cancelling on the Genspark website will not touch a mobile subscription. Pausing is not available.

Refunds: the window is 72 hours for most customers, 14 days in the EU, UK and Turkey and 7 days in Korea, measured from the charge. A refund is available if you used less than 50% of the subscription or quota, otherwise Genspark may offer credits instead. It processes one refund per customer, and a renewal charge starts its own refund window. Credits from a cancelled period are not refunded.

Genspark vs Perplexity vs ChatGPT vs Claude

The honest comparison is between Genspark Plus and the other plans people weigh at around $20 a month. Genspark meters agent work in credits. Perplexity also lists credits for its Computer agent, while Claude Pro uses a weekly usage limit.

PlanPriceWhat the price buysHow limits work
Genspark Plus$24.99 monthly, $19.99 billed annuallyAgents for slides, sheets, docs, research and phone calls; 50 GB drive10,000 credits a month plus a weekly Free Quota; credits reset monthly

๐Ÿ“Š 12 Months at List Price (Cheapest Billing)

๐Ÿ’ก Key Insight: Genspark Plus on annual billing costs about the same as ChatGPT Plus. The price is not the difference; the credit meter is. Claude Pro runs into a weekly limit, Genspark spends credits.

Winner by job. For finished deliverables (a deck, a sheet, a research report), Genspark’s agents are the reason to pay. For one strong chat assistant, the $20 plans are simpler and their limits are easier to predict. Perplexity is the closest on research. Our Perplexity review and Comet browser review cover that side.

Who Should Use Genspark (And Who Shouldn’t)

Choose Genspark Plus if you produce decks, spreadsheets or research reports weekly and want one tool for all three. The weekly Free Quota is the sweet spot: Standard-mode agent work can run at no credit cost before your 10,000 credits are touched.

Stick with Perplexity, ChatGPT or Claude if your work is mostly questions and writing. Our Claude Cowork review covers Anthropic’s agent for non-coders, and our Replit Agent review covers building apps.

Upgrade to Pro if you regularly use all of Plus’s credits. Pro gives 12.5 times the entry credits for about 10 times the price, and annual billing takes the cost to $1.60 per 1,000 credits. If you do not run out of Plus credits, Pro is wasted money.

Skip it if you need fixed monthly costs, you need a quiet support experience, or you cannot tolerate pay-per-run billing for work that fails.

What Users Are Saying

The best public read on customer sentiment is Trustpilot. On October 6, 2026 it showed 467 reviews (453 in the last 12 months): 45% five-star and 26% one-star. It shows no TrustScore for Genspark and says it removed fake reviews, so treat the mix with caution. Three camps stand out:

The “workspace works” camp. Recent positive reviews praise the multi-agent workspace for presentations and research, and some mention quick refunds. Genspark’s own blog publishes customer stories, such as a marketer’s account of cutting a 30-hour task to 5 hours (October 1, 2026). Those are company-published, not independent.

The “limits changed on me” camp. Reviewers say unlimited chat was removed and replaced with a weekly usage limit, and that premium models no longer sit in the core offering. Others report timeouts when generating video.

The “watch your credits” camp. Some reviewers worry about unexpected credit use from bugs. This matches Genspark’s own help text: failed retries cost credits.

The dominant thread: people like what the agents produce and dislike how it is metered.

Is Genspark Safe? Data, Security and Billing

For teams, the paperwork is strong. Genspark’s Team & Enterprise page lists SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001:2022 certification, AES-256-GCM encryption at rest, TLS in transit, automatic opt-out of model training, and says admins cannot view members’ project content. Enterprise adds data residency in the US, EU or APAC.

For individual plans, the pages we read say less. They describe those protections for Team and Enterprise only. Read the privacy policy before you upload sensitive files to a Free, Plus or Pro account.

Billing is the practical risk. Payments run through Stripe on the web, or through Apple and Google for app purchases. Fair-use rules forbid sharing logins and reselling access. Given the complaints above, set a calendar reminder for your renewal date and cancel before it if you are unsure.

The Road Ahead: What’s Coming

Short term (through December 31, 2026): older subscribers keep unlimited AI Chat and AI Image. Genspark says Free Quota coverage “expands over time”, so expect more agents and modes to be added.

Medium term (from January 1, 2027): every Plus and Pro member follows the plan terms then in force: core models included, flagship models on credits. Based on that wording, expect the unlimited tier to disappear for legacy members.

Longer term (June 30, 2027): the membership benefits and the commercial-use guarantee on the help page are stated as valid through that date. Treat everything after it as unannounced.

FAQs: Your Genspark Questions Answered

Q: How much does Genspark AI cost?

A: Plus is $24.99 a month ($19.99 a month billed annually, $239.99 a year) and Pro is $249.99 a month ($199.99 billed annually, $2,399.99 a year). Free is $0. Team is listed at $30 or $35 per seat depending on which Genspark page you read.

Q: Is Genspark free?

A: Yes, with limits. Free gives 100 credits a day up to a lifetime allowance, 1 GB of storage and limited models and agents. Phone calls need a paid plan.

Q: How does Genspark credit usage work?

A: Credits measure compute. Cost rises with model tier, length, resolution, video duration, multi-model outputs and retries. Plus has 10,000 a month, Pro 125,000. They reset each billing period and do not roll over.

Q: How do I unsubscribe from Genspark?

A: Go to Settings, then Billing, then the Cancellation card and select Cancel Subscription. Your plan stays active until the period ends. App Store and Google Play subscriptions must be cancelled in the store.

Q: Is Genspark AI safe?

A: Team and Enterprise list SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001:2022, encryption and no training on your data. The pages we read do not say the same for individual plans, so check the privacy policy. Billing complaints appear on Trustpilot.

Q: Is there a Genspark student discount?

A: Genspark’s membership page lists no student plan. It does mention promo codes that are validated at checkout and may be limited by account, region or expiry date.

Q: What does the Genspark Team plan cost?

A: The Membership Plans page says $35 per seat a month with 10,000 credits. The Team and Enterprise page says $30 per seat with 12,000 credits. Teams run 2 to 150 seats. Confirm at checkout.

Q: Is the Genspark AI Browser free?

A: Genspark’s membership page lists no separate price for it. Its blog announced the browser in June 2025. Check the browser’s download page and your credit balance before assuming it costs nothing.

Final Verdict: Is Genspark Worth It?

Verdict: DEPENDS. Genspark Plus is worth $24.99 if you make decks, sheets and research reports every week. It is not worth it as a general chatbot, and its credit meter and changing limits make the monthly cost harder to predict than a $20 plan.

Use Genspark if you want one place for slides, sheets, docs and research. Stick with Perplexity, ChatGPT or Claude if you mostly chat. Start on Free, then pick annual billing only after a month of real use. Try it at genspark.ai.
