AI Tool Analysis answers one question for people who pay for AI tools themselves: what does this subscription cost, what do you get for it, and is it worth it for what you do?
We are a research site. We read the vendor’s own pricing pages, plan limits, help articles and terms, compare them across plans and against rival tools, and explain what they mean for an ordinary user. We do not run lab tests or benchmarks, and we do not present anything as hands-on experience. When a post states a price, a limit or a feature, it comes from a source we can point to.
What we cover
- Prices and plans for AI tools most people have heard of: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and the Google AI plans, Grok, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Kling and others.
- “Is it worth it?” comparisons that set one plan against the next tier up and against its closest rivals, so you can see what the extra money buys.
- New launches, when readers are clearly asking about them.
How we research a post
- We start from the vendor’s own pages. Prices, plan limits and features come from the company’s pricing page, help centre or official announcement. Other articles can tell us where to look, but they are never the source for a number.
- We keep a dated record of what we quote. For every post we publish or update, the pages we quote are saved and each claim is logged with its source and the date we checked it, so the post can be checked against the source later. Where a picture helps, we use a dated screenshot of the vendor’s page, never an edited one.
- We watch for changes. We monitor the pricing pages of the main tools we cover. When a price, plan or limit changes, we update the posts that mention it.
- We keep facts and opinions apart. A fact comes with its source. A judgement, such as “worth it for a student, not for a team”, is our reading of those facts, and we say why.
The full method is on our research method page.
What we don’t do
- We don’t claim to have tested a tool or describe results we haven’t documented.
- We don’t invent users, reviews or quotes. When a post walks through an example, it is written as a hypothetical (“say you use it for…”), not as a real person’s story.
- We don’t take prices from resellers, coupon sites or other blogs.
- We don’t accept payment for reviews or for favourable coverage.
These rules apply to everything we have published or updated since October 2026. Some older posts still use first-person testing language from before we changed our method; we are correcting them as each one comes up for update. If you find one, let us know.
Meet the founder: Tanveer Ahmad
Tanveer has worked with computers since 1992, when he first sat down at an XT machine with no hard drive, only a floppy disk drive and a DOS prompt. Since then he has programmed in C, Assembly, dBase, Foxbase, FoxPro and COBOL, worked as a system engineer, database administrator and team lead, and spent more than ten years as a freelance consultant for clients around the world.
That background shapes how the site works. Years of database and systems work make you careful with numbers and sceptical of launch-day claims, and a decade of freelancing for very different clients makes you ask who a product is actually for. AI Tool Analysis applies both habits to the subscriptions people are being asked to pay for today.

How the site is paid for
The site is paid for by ads served through Google AdSense. Google chooses and places the ads automatically, and advertisers have no say in what we write or which tools we cover. How ads and cookies work on this site is explained in our privacy policy.
A few posts also contain affiliate links, labelled where they appear. If you subscribe through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions don’t decide which tools we cover or what we say about them.
Corrections and suggestions
AI prices and plans change often. If you see a price that is out of date or a mistake in a post, tell us and we’ll check it against the vendor’s page.
To suggest a tool for us to cover, tell us which tool, what you would use it for, and what you want to know before paying for it.
